Are you looking for a hands-on Bible-oriented science curriculum for elementary school kids?
Do you want something that can be taught in a group environment?
Would you like to teach real science in a fun, hands-on way from gorgeous resources?
I’ve got you covered.
Bible Science Experiments for Kids
Erin Lee Green was a chemistry, astronomy, and geology teacher in the US. She now lives in Puerto Rico and homeschools her children there. Green has written two wonderful volumes of Big Bible Science: Experiment and Explore God’s Word (CF4K, 2016 and 2019). They just may be the answer to all your hands-on science needs for your elementary-aged kids!
Each Bible science book consists of 21 experiments covering an interesting–and academic–range of topics. There isn’t any fluff here. Your kids will be learning real science from a biblical worldview.
Each Bible Science Experiment Includes:
- A “Big Idea”–with a Bible story or concept that relates to the scientific concept
- Several activities (2-4) to facilitate learning about the scientific concept
- An “Apply It” section with several ideas for continued study and devotional questions
- A “Go Beyond” section with a few more ideas: an in-depth activity
- A Bible reading
- A short science biography
The Bible science books are 96 and 112 pages each. They’re visually awesome, with thick glossy full-color pages and tons of illustrations.
Science Experiments Kids Will Love!
The scientific concepts in the book are advanced. They are really ideal for 3-5th grade students. However, because the work is so hands-on (it is suggested that students keep a notebook–but younger ones wouldn’t have to), and because this is teacher-led, younger students shouldn’t have trouble following along. In fact, they will enjoy the hands-on learning and a little extra help from mom or dad!
I highly recommend Big Bible Science and Big Bible Science 2 as a great hands-on, fun introduction to important scientific concepts. These are great tools for a co-op, or at home!

I love that it is Bible-based. This will go well with our plan for next year, getting an overall view of science. Also, I’m going to email you when we start TOG in a couple of years. It can be overwhelming to me and the last time I was at a convention there wasn’t really anyone there that could answer my questions properly. I think they had a few younger high school kids manning the booth at the time and they didn’t feel confident enough to answer me.
Melinda says
My littles would love it.

We LOVE science in our home so I think my favorite part about this is that they incorporate God/the Bible in the curriculum/experiments. This would be a great win!
Sarah Pickering says
The best thing to me is that I wouldn’t have to say that’s not accurate as aim going through the curriculum with my daughter, she’s now mimicking me when she’s listening to shows on dinosaurs or other things when they state, “300 million years ago, or we evolved from”. It’s nice to hear that she understands the idea that most of the world has about our earth is not true.
heamagea says

The experiments can be found in other science books (or online!) but I like the Bible emphasis. I run the science lab at our church’s VBS every year so I look for experiments that are fun and have a spiritual lesson. This book looks like a good resource. Thanks for telling us about it!
Kryste Herring says
There are several things that appeal to me. First is that it is Bible based and demonstrates a correlation with science. Second is that with a younger child, this could be used more than once as a science curriculum-which would allow a basic knowledge/experiment, then a review/in-depth look, then again later another review/more in-depth learning that they could complete themselves demonstrating a strong knowledge.
Stacey says
I love that it’s bible based! What a fun curriculum!
Linda Finn says

jeannie says
Love bible based science. Hoping to get to try this.
Jennifer says
My kiddos are always asking to do experiments. I love that it ties to a bible lesson!
Erica says
I’m always interested in better ways to engage my kids in science! Hands-on participation with experiments makes a lasting impact on their curious minds. Getting involved in a group setting engages their hearts in deep ways as they discuss, joke and, later on, reminis with their co-laborers. 🙂 (Parents: take the leap! Start a science club!)
Clearing away the apathy and inspiring us to look into the details of creation and our Creative God is essential. (The invisible attribute of God are clearly seen in His creation. See Romans 1:20) The format and graphics of this Bible science book are interesting and would draw the child’s attention into wonder, exploration, and discovery unlike other boring texts. I like it!
Thank you for bringing quality materials to the table, Danika!
