Read through the Bible with your family — why you’ll want to and how you’ll be blessed reading through the Bible with your kids!
Read Through the Bible as a Family
Have you ever wondered about the value of reading through the Bible as a family?
I mean, read Bible stories… yes.
Memorize verses? Sure.
But, what’s the value in actually reading through the Bible together with your children? Will your family really get anything out of reading through the Bible?
Actually, yes. And, I’m glad you asked. I want to tell you a story…
Thru the Bible Together
Let’s take a journey through just one (short!) book of the Bible. Don’t worry… this won’t take long.
We’ll talk about how this story is usually presented, how God presents the story in the Bible, and what your kids will learn by going through the whole story with you.

Through the Bible with Your Kids
See what I mean? Reading through the Bible with your family is valuable. Diving deep into Scripture is one of the ways your kids learn to learn and love the Bible!
When we read through the Bible with our kids, they learn:
- About God’s sovereignty over people, nations, and history
- Who God is–his characteristics like justice, compassion, and mercy
- The major themes of the Bible
- Biblical theology will make sense to them
The Bible is a story, written for us by God, and reading through the Bible with your family has value.

Help Your Kids Learn and Love the Bible
You want your kids to learn and love the Bible.
You want to teach the Bible…
As parents, we deeply desire the best for our kids. We look for the right schools, we make them eat right and exercise, and we get them involved in extracurricular activities. We take our job as parents seriously.
But are we also putting our time and energy into
teaching them the Bible? Giving them the life-changing, soul-nourishing words of Scripture is not only doable, it’s an essential part of parenting kids for Jesus. And the good news is, studying God’s Word as a family doesn’t have to be difficult!
2 Timothy 2:15, ESV, says:
Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved,
a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.
Our job, as parents who love Jesus, is to help our kids become approved workers, unashamed and rightly handling the word of truth.
The good news? Teaching the Bible isn’t hard. Your family can learn the Bible together.
…and you can!
