We want our kids to learn God’s Word, and the best way to teach them the Bible is to take them through it! The Bible is a big book, and reading it with our kids can seem daunting. That’s why I developed Bible Road Trip™–to help me take my own kids through the Bible with scheduled reading and discussion each week. As I worked on the curriculum, I added crafts, notebooking, praying for the nations, memorization, and exploration of the biblical background. I wanted my children to have a well-rounded look at God’s Word each week through books, videos, writing, and–of course, through Scripture.
Bible Road Trip™ is a three-year Bible survey curriculum for families with kids preschool through high school. The program has helped tens of thousands of families learn God’s Word together.
Learn ABOUT the Bible
With Bible Road Trip™, not only will your family read the Bible, you’ll learn about the Bible as you journey!
It’s so important that your kids go through the Bible itself. It’s also important to get a little extra help learning about the Bible!
The additional resources scheduled into the Bible Road Trip™ curriculum will help your kids understand:
- Each book of the Bible – They’ll learn about the author, theme, and its part in God’s story of salvation.
- How to understand difficult passages in the Bible – They’ll explore these issues in a broad, orthodox sense that leaves room for your denomination’s teachings.
- The biblical lands and people – Our kids haven’t experienced Pharisees and Sadducees, and they probably don’t know what it was like to live under Pharoah in Egypt. Bible Road Trip™ includes suggested resources to help them learn more.
- How the Bible all fits together. It’s so important that our kids learn to identify God’s overarching themes through Scripture. By knowing the whole Word of God, they will learn to see his story of salvation, written for us.
- The history of the Bible itself – Through the scheduled suggested reading and videos, kids will learn how books were canonized, who translated and preserved Scripture, and why the Bible is structured the way it is today.
- For older kids: Controversies that have arisen over Scripture in the past 100 years, and why the historic understanding of Scripture is correct – Our teens shouldn’t be surprised by criticism of the Bible. Instead, Bible Road Trip™ prepares them to give an answer for their faith.
- For moms: Learn tools to help your kids learn and love the Bible – Each year, you will review tips and tricks on how to teach the Bible to your individual kids, according to their unique, God-given gifting using Help Your Kids Learn and Love the Bible.
It’s vital that we help our kids not just read through God’s Word, but also that we help them learn about the Bible–who wrote it, what the culture and customs were, and how God put it together in its final format!
Bible Road Trip™ has weekly schedules to help you put everything together so that by the time you preschoolers graduate from high school, they’ve not only read the Bible five times, they’ve also learned an awful lot about God’s Word in a really fun way! Do you have high schoolers? You can still take them all the way through God’s Word once, while learning deep truths about Scripture.
