I am Fearfully and Wonderfully Made Craft
For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them.Psalm 139:13-16, ESV
Psalm 139:13-16 is such a wonderful description of God’s sovereign and involved role in creating little people in their mother’s wombs. Read it as a family or class before beginning your craft.
As you prepare to make your I am Fearfully and Wonderfully Made bookmarks ask your kids the following questions:
- King David wrote Psalm 139. Who is he writing it to? (Hint: Read Psalm 139:1.)
- Who formed you in your mother’s womb?
- We praise God because we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Fearfully in this instance means we have great reverence and respect for our Creator God who wonderfully made us. We are amazed by his creativeness, powerfulness, and majesty–so we praise him!
- What does your soul know about God?
- Who saw you while you were in your mother’s womb?
- Who not only created you, but also planned every single one of your days before you were even created?
- Is there anything about your physical body you wish was different? Does it change how you feel when you know that the Creator of the Universe made you just the way you are on purpose?
- Thank God now for making you just the way you are!
