Teach your kids about the Parable of the Sower with this hands-on lapbook and Parable of the Sower Bible lesson for children.
It’s important, too, for our kids to slow down and really take a look at different stories in the Bible, so they really understand what Scripture is saying about a subject. That’s the reason for our lapbook series here at Thinking Kids.
One of my favorite parables in the Gospels has always been the Parable of the Sower. It’s found in Matthew 13, Mark 4, and Luke 8. Jesus tells the story of a sower who tosses seed as he walks. The seed lands four different places–along the path, on the rock, among the thorns, and into good soil. As you can imagine, the seed in each spot grows with different results. Only the seed that lands on the good soil grows and bears fruit.
The story is a metaphor for salvation, the kingdom of God, and the work we are each called to do–sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.

How to Print and Use the Parable of the Sower Bible Lesson Lapbook
To create the base of your lapbook, place your file folder on a table and fold both sides inward toward the creased spine of the folder. Once the outer edges meet, crease your file folder. This will give you a book that opens in the middle. You will still have a fold in the middle of your book, so I like to glue a piece of cardstock into the middle section of the book to create a thick center that won’t bend.
